DiverseCity Development Trust is proud to announce the upcoming launch of an exciting new community-led initiative:

Empowering Marginalised Communities through Data-Driven Policy Innovation
Funded through the Yorkshire Policy Innovation Partnership (YPIP) via UKRI ESRC, this project is designed to ensure that the lived experiences of communities across South Yorkshire directly help shape policy, services, and real decision-making.
Launching initially through a faith-based soft launch on 19 April 2026, the initiative will begin by working closely with trusted community networks, faith organisations, VCSE partners, women’s groups, young people, disability communities, LGBTQ+ groups, and culturally diverse communities across:
- Sheffield
- Barnsley
- Rotherham
- Doncaster
The project’s core message is simple:
Real Experiences → Real Decisions
Through trusted community ambassadors, local engagement partners, and a decentralised model of outreach, the initiative will gather real voices and lived experiences to help inform systems change and policy development across the region.
This marks the beginning of an important community-led movement where local voices are not simply heard — but are placed at the centre of evidence, insight, and decision-making.
Further updates, launch details, and opportunities to participate will be shared soon.
